The latest inspiring Indian woman to get a Google Doodle is none other than the first Indian woman to practice medicine in colonial India, Rukhmabai Raut. 
“Today’s Doodle by illustrator Shreya Gupta shows the courageous doctor among her patients, doing the dedicated work of a skilled physician,” read Google's blog post on doodles.
However, apart from her paving the way for future female medicine practitioners, Rukhmabai did one other very important thing - she refused to live on anyone else's terms, much less a man she had been married to when she was only 11.
